TIE-DYE
In honor of my *always interesting* voyage to Jamaica Avenue today I am going to start off by officialy co-signing the TIE-DYE revival!!! I will give some of the props to MediaTakeout.com for recognizing Ciara in tie-dyed pants as one of the latest fashion trends...but I am taking it a step further. Despite the fact that I have seen one other fashion blog that gave notice to this comeback as a fashion for this past Spring, I am rockin' out with this one for the summer!
While I was out running some errands I spotted some pants just like this at a...uhhh..."boutique" and had to take a pic. I should of copped them right then but my darling son was in the middle of a meltdown so...you know the rest. But I will definately be back there tomorrow to pick 'em up. There were several other tie-dyed items that I observed today but none as cute as this one!The Asymetrical Neckline (I love it short with the slit up the leg!)
I have a couple of pics of some random actresses and socialites (including the mysterious Ms. Maggie Betts -- daughter of Chelsea Pier developer Roland Betts) at this weeks Whitney Art Party , and Calvin Klein Collection High Line Party, rockin' asymmetrical necklines. Maggie Grace and Camilla Belle showed up in similar looks that I really liked, while Dree Hemingway graced the Calvin Klein Party in a playful yet classy black and white leather number. Might I also add that Sienna Miller is on the cover of Vogue's July issue in a silk, asymmetrical dress from Calvin Klein Collection. This is definitely a trend that is already catching on. I'm striking while the iron is hot before this one gets overdone...come to think of it...same goes for the tie-dye!

Tribal Prints
The chick from Juno and Lake bell were both at the Whitney Art Party flossin' in Hérve Léger by Max Azria dresses that featured tribal prints characterized by clean lines and flattering construction. I also found a pic of Melissa George at this years prestigious CFDA awards in a sparkling, floor length Nicole Miller gown with a meticulously detailed sequin tribal pattern.
