As I am sure most of you out there heard, the Chris Brown and Rhi Rhi saga (hopefully) came to a close today as Brown plead guilty to felony assault charges stemming from the couple's post Grammy Party scuffle. Chris is the latest in a string of dapper black men who I have observed breathing new life into this classic print. Jay, pictured below, showed his fashion versatility and knack for accessorizing with his Prince of Wales blazer and matching scarf while Lebron James took a more traditional route with the three piece glen he rocked at an after party for this years' NBA All-Star game.
I love to see our young brothers expand their fashion horizons beyond signature fabrics that endorse companies who have no interest or respect for our consumership. Classic prints are just that...classic and timeless. They are versatile and have the ability to reveal ones knowledge and respect for the art and history of fashion. If you had a chance to check out Carolina Herrera's Spring 2009 Collection it would be more evident that not only is glen plaid "back," it never left.
