I'm Bringing Fanny Packs Back...yeah!!!

Ok...so we've been back and forth about this whole fanny pack thing for the greater part of this week on FB...I all fairness to those of you who tried to dump on the whole idea (you know who you are), I should've precluded my declaration with a photo of what inspired it.

I think it is safe to say that both Gucci and Louis Vuitton have successfully reinvented the fanny pack in the past and provided us with timeless versions of the 80's sensation...but Louis Vuitton has, without a doubt, truly revived and renovated it with such a respect for the fanny pack's old form that you almost want to throw on your door-knockers/bamboos/name plates/name rings, and pop in the cassette single of L.L.'s Around the Way Girl (and, yes, I said casstte)...

I was able to dig up a flick of Rhianna in London (rockin' an H&M sweater dress...) exiting a club with the damn thing on her waist ! I say this with such angst because I could only wish to be so lucky to be able to possess ANYTHING that hasn't even made it down the runway as of yet. According to my sources, this fanny pack is highly coveted and won't be seen on runways until the Louis Vuitton Spring 2010 Collection floods the runways in February. In the meantime -- those of us who lack Rhi Rhi's coffers can put aside a little change until we have saved enough to foot the the $2500 price tag that is said to be attached to it...smdh

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK!!! (Dedicated to Camilla...my favorite rubber chicken.lol)

If you're like me (a couple of years ago), you might have always thought that the events at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week are only for the famous and the elite...so not true.

I got a chance to make it out to Anbar for their store closing sale...

IDK if anyone else got a chance to make it (and i probably will nenver know since idont have any damn subscribers) but if they did they would've seen that the pickings were very slim. But what I did find out from one of the people in charge of stock is that they will be receiving a new shipment of summer shoes with in a week to a week and a half...he also said that your best bet is to call ahead to make shure they have replenished the stock before you go making the trek down there...refer to previous posts for their contact info if you wish....but you know I will be keeping abreast of this as well.

I did manage to snag some BCBG snake skin pumps for a STEAL!!!

And for those of you who love hose in the winter months, they have Berkshire Panty Hose for, like, $3 a pair!!! You can't beat that! They even had the Shimmers...my fav!

Introducing: Miguel Perdomo -- The New Face of Sean John

Well, Ladies...looks like we have another young brother to add to our list of people we would love to be trapped on a desert island with. Hailed as "the first Dominican Supermodel," Miguel was picked up by Diddy to represent his lifestyle brand back in 2007. Previous to that he walked the catwalk for Phat Farm and appeared in campaigns for Azzure, COOGI and Calvin Klein. Perdomo is currently working on Sean John's 2009 cad campaign. And when he is not busy with that he dedicates his time at his local YMCA in his native Paterson, NJ or lends a helping  hand to "Dominican Tornado Relief." Even more reason to droll over this brother...and, yes, ladies -- he's single! But just as I was about to give my boy, Miguel, my stamp of approval -- I happened upon his Model Mayhem page. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I mean, call me crazy, but for someone with so much notoriety would it not make more sense that a little bit more time be dedicated to maintaing a professional appearance at all times? I dunno...just a thought...

He's still a cutie pie and all, but I'm definitely going to need him to step it up a notch.

Why there are so many posts for July 3rd...

When I get STAT info that I feel needs to be dispersed ASAP...the gods of modern technology have enabled me to post via my Blkbrry! So when it occurred to me that I needed to post about the Anbar sale, I was sitting under the dryer at the salon. I chose to SMS text it because, at the time, that is what seemed most convenient.  I later observed that b/c it can only process a certain number of characters, my one post turned into, like, 500! So...from now on...I will only use SMS as a mode of quick update...otherwise I will post via e-mail.
